Julia Morgan-Scott

Julia Morgan Scott’s beautifully rendered monotone paintings, sometimes dark and disturbing, sometimes amusing, or just plain weird, have been published by Cemetery Dance, Chaosium, 7th Seas, Warlords, Marietta Publishing, and many others since she received her degree in Art in 1984.  She’s worked for the past ten years as a biological illustrator, drawing fossil mammals, part of that time under the auspices of a grant from the NSF.  In addition, her Gothic poetry, also dark, disturbing, funny and weird, has graced the pages of Penny Dreadful, Isis Rising, Widdershins, and The Killer Frog Anthology, among many others, and has been widely reviewed online.

Over the years, Julia's dark fantastic paintings have appeared in Dreams of Decadence, Pulp Eternity, Flesh & Blood, Deathrealm, and Aberrations magazines. You can see her cover for Lawrence Barker's alternate history/horror novel I'll Take My Stand  at http://silverlakepublishing.com.

In addition, her Gothic poetry has graced the pages of Seductive Torture Vampire Tales, Bare Bone, The Darker Woods, and others. Scavenger's Newsletter said her poetry has "a Poe-like flavor and themes of destructive royal pride and stately horror he would've admired."  She won first prize in poetry in the Killer Frog Anthology, a collection of humorous horror tales, and has published several horror stories with fellow writer Lawrence Barker.
