Mark Helwig

Mark A. Helwig began drawing before he could even read, by accurately copying the pictures in his Jonny Quest coloring books at the tender age of four!  Throughout his interesting and varied career -- including service as a tenor performer with the Atlanta Opera chorus, actor, haunted house designer, licensed optician, choir director, and armorer with the U.S. Army -- Mark's abilities as an illustrator and sculptor have served to teach, enlighten, and entertain his colleagues, students, and fans. In addition to his fantasy and science fiction work, Mark's illustration career has included architectural rendering, logo and t-shirt design, and poster designs for a variety of educational and non-profit organizations. In the sci fi/fantasy realm, his most recent horror-related work includes the cover of the novel Greystone: A Paranormal Thriller by Christina Barber, as well as original art in the vampire, werewolf, and "ugly beastie" genres. Mark holds a Bachelor's Degree from Kennesaw State University and is a member of the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists.
