Saturday's Lineup Jonathon Wimpee http://www.myspace.com/jonathanwimpee We will kick off our Saturday evening entertainment with a special appearance and the unique sounds of Jonathon Wimpee at 6:00PM, during Feast. Singer and guitarist Jonathan Wimpee was raised in Gadsden, Alabama, and has been singing most of his life, starting in the back seat of his parent's 1973 Ford Galaxy 500. He began playing guitar at the young age of 13, and helped start a band called Zuzu and the Sunbeams at the age of 15. He joined the jazz band during his sophomore year of high school, and proceeded to win Alabama Jazz Educator's Jazz Guitarist of the year in 1990 and 1991. Jonathan's talent enabled him to win a full scholarship to Gadsden State Community College, where he played guitar and sang in the college band. In 1993 he was offered the opportunity to travel with a band called Chaz. He quit school and went on the road, playing a variety of music at clubs, resorts, and corporate parties. In January of 1999, Jon was asked to join Tim Brooks and the Alien Sharecroppers. While playing with the Alien sharecroppers Jonathan had the pleasure of not only touring nationally and internationally, but also sharing the stage with many of musics greats, including Lynrd Skynrd, Greg Allman and friends, Warren Haynes, Little Feat, Little River Band, Peter Mulvey and others. Jonathan's original material is americana rock blending folk, funk, blues, and the occasional bossa nova. His strong vocals and classic guitar style forge a soulful sound that is unique yet comfortably familiar. Recently Jonathan has been playing with the Alabama Skydogs and Milele Roots. Check your LOCAL listings for shows in your area. The rest and the best is yet to come for this talented singer/guitarist. I hope everyone will enjoy his performance as much as we do. Following the Slave Auction, approximately 10:00 or 10:30pm we will start off our late night entertainment with; The Cemetary Surfers The Cemetery Surfers Will be performing Saturday night following the Slave Auction. Formed by a Group of Parapsychologists and Ghost Hunters, The Cemetery Surfers spend as much time in haunted locations as they do onstage. The Cemetery Surfers have combined Surf, Rockabilly, Punk, New Wave, and Jazz sounds to create their own style of Progressive rock tunes. The music has a Horror/Sci-Fi theme that is designed to be entertaining and humorous in a Monty Python sort of style. The lineup includes: Rockabilly Hall of Fame Guitar Player Jeff 'Ugly Shoes' Harris, Dr. Mark Burtman on Bass and Bobby Gordon on Drums. They have been described as "a cross between the Beach Boys and Vincent Price". Who know's, maybe we can get Connie to take her shirt off, again, like she did at FantaSciCon this past March. The Merry Bellies Merrybellies - Belly Dance Studio Jillanna and her intrepid troup of Belly Dancers, The Merry Belly Dance Troup, will be joining us again, this year. A sight to behold. This year our girls will be dancing Friday night following the Molly's performance with an encore performance Saturday night following the Cemetery Surfers. More to come.
